Itinerary
DAY 1: ARRIVAL IN FEZ
Arrival in Fez Our guide will be waiting for you at the agreed time at the airport, we will transfer you to the Riad, located in the historical part of Fez, depending on the time of arrival we will have the possibility to visit the Medina of Fez.Dinner in Riad where you will have the first contact with the Moroccan gastronomy.
DAY 2: FEZ
We will pick you up after breakfast and start the guided tour of the Medina, as we enter its streets we will feel that we are going back in time and a constant tingling of people moving through its labyrinthine and narrow streets, in which we will be surprised by magnificent mosques, Koranic schools or its neighbourhoods, among others the Andalusian or Jewish neighbourhoods.Once the visit is over, you will enjoy your free time, where you can enjoy a Hamman, a cup of tea or simply continue enjoying FEZ.
DAY 3: FEZ - IFRANE - ERFOUD - MERZOUGA DESERT
After a hearty Moroccan breakfast we will leave towards the desert crossing the Middle Atlas where we will arrive to the first stop, Ifrane, the so called Moroccan Switzerland, it is really a surprising city whose architecture is totally different from the rest of the Moroccan cities, its houses with sloping roofs, wide avenues and parks cared to the maximum detail.We will continue until we reach the cedar forest, one of the largest in the world, where we will be welcomed by the monkeys that inhabit the place, we will continue the route passing by some of the lakes that surround the area, until we reach lunch time where we will taste a typical Moroccan dish,Later we will cross the Ziz Valley, we will see many typical villages of the area until we arrive to Erfoud, where the landscape is changing, finally we will arrive to Merzouga, where we will get on a cloud of dunes on the back of a dromedary, to contemplate a great photographic scenery, the sunset. Then we will arrive at our camp where we will spend the night like a true nomad, in tents, once we have finished dinner, we will be enveloped in Berber songs between drums and a sea of stars that will leave us breathless. Dinner and overnight in tents.
DAY 4: MERZOUGA
Today will be a day of total desert, after getting up early to see the sunrise where we will look for the highest dune to have a better photographic image.Once in the camp we will be delighted with a hearty breakfast, then we will return to Merzouga, and once there we will change the camel for the 4x4 to surround the great dune and enjoy what characterizes it, more than 250 meters high, we will connect on track with the route of the Paris Dakar and the edge of the mountains of Algeria, we will stop at the oasis of Tissardmine to reach a nomadic settlement where we will have a tea while you tell us how their lives are their customs and what they live.Before lunch we will visit Khamlia, a village originally from Mali, where we will attend a small concert of Gnawa music where the atmosphere is so positive that everyone joins in and takes part in the dance. Return to the hotel in the afternoon free to stroll around the village, read a book in the silence of the desert, enjoy the beautiful sunsets, stroll around the village and if you want some action the Quads are waiting for us to give off adrenaline between the dunes of the desert, dinner and overnight at the Riad.
DAY 5: MERZOUGA DESERT - RISSANI - TODRA GORGES - DADES VALLEY
Today we will have an appointment with the sunrise, as it is the last day of the desert, we can not say goodbye without seeing a great sunrise, so we will look for the highest dune surrounding the camp and we will see that sunrise that will leave us perplexed without being able to blink enjoying the silence that surrounds the desert, we will return to the camp and after breakfast we will return by camel or if you prefer in 4×4 to Merzouga. We will go to Rissani, where we will visit its market, one of the most traditional of the country, taking into account the market days (Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday), once finished the walk, we will go to Erfoud, where we will have the opportunity to visit a factory of fossilized marble, we will continue towards the HIGH ATLAS, We will continue to the Todra Gorges, an important rock canyon carved by the river Todra, world famous for climbing enthusiasts in the heart of the country, where we will walk, then we will have lunch, in the afternoon we will leave to reach the Dades Valley, a place full of magic, steep gorges famous for its steep and colorful walls with a narrow road with panoramic views. Dinner and overnight in Riad.
DAY 6: DADES VALLEY - OUARZAZATE - KASBAH OF AIT BEN HADDOU - HIGH ATLAS - MARRAKECH
After a hearty breakfast, we will set off leaving behind this rocky formation that extends creating gorges, folds, limestone etc.. We will enter a landscape dotted with wonderful kasbahs, nowadays, most of them in ruins, but we will certainly get an idea of the splendour they once had. We will make several stops to see the landscape, the Valley of the Roses and the great palm grove of Skoura,We will arrive at Ouarzazate whose name comes from a Berber phrase that means "without noise". We will visit the kasbah of Taourirt, we will visit the film studios of the country called Atlas Studios, where renowned international productions work.Following the route we will arrive to a fortified village whose name is the same as the kasbah of Ben Haddou, scene of many films, declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 1986. Once we have had lunch we will go to Marrakech where we will change the silence that transmit these landscapes and their colours for the hubbub of the Jemaa el-Fna square where we will get to see the sunset from one of its rooftops while enjoying a delicious tea. Dinner and overnight in Riad.
DAY 7: MARRAKECH
After breakfast we will start our guided tour of Marrakech, one of the 4 imperial cities of Morocco. Famous for its numerous monuments recognized as World Heritage Sites, and its famous Jemaa el Fna square. You will be able to walk through its different and characteristic quarters, the modern city: Guéliz, Hivernage, Palmeraie, Mellah (the Jewish quarter)... or let yourself be carried away by the winding streets of the Medina, until the Jmaa el Fna square, scene of an endless number of open air activities jugglers, musicians, fakirs, snake charmers, Jugglers... .... that will awake all your senses, with its multiple sounds, aromas, flavours, colours that characterize it. DAY 8: MARRAKECH - AIRPORT
After breakfast, depending on the time of our flight, we can make a last tour to say goodbye to the essence of Marrakech city that will have envauced us. Time agreed to transfer you to the airport where we will meet you at the boarding gate.
